Evin Durmaz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Swiss law (magna cum laude, 2014) from the University of Lausanne and a Master in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (2016). She also earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions from the University of Geneva in 2018.
During her Master’s, Evin specialised in International Trade and Investment Law, Arbitration, Corporate Accountability, and Human Rights. She contributed to a significant report on Africa’s Investment Regime for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
Evin then gained invaluable experience working as a legal associate at a fast-growing international financial company focused on social, emerging, and sustainable investments (2015-2017), before completing her legal traineeship at FRORIEP (now MLL) and being admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2020 (Premier Brevet).
In September 2020, Evin joined the firm and was promoted to senior associate in January 2024.
Evin Durmaz brings a unique combination of expertise in civil and criminal litigation, informed by her international law training and corporate experience. Her practice is marked by a multidisciplinary, global perspective, making her particularly adept at handling international mandates.
She focuses in complex, cross-border cases involving international asset recovery, business crime, and mutual legal assistance, representing individuals, corporations, and states.
